Onwards

Grande Dixence Valais
(c) Sam Rappaz

At the crossing
Of serenity and fear
Of subtlety and the grandiose
Of beauty and starkness
I look upon and onwards
To the new year

As we spin around
Again to see the changes
We have come to depend on
I hope to see changes
I haven’t yet prepared for

I resolved a lot
I resisted little
I stand resolute on some
I reserve nothing

  1. I loved the contrasts in this poem. Life is like that. I also love the movement through the poem – “At the crossing” and “As we spin around”…And the “r” words in every line of! the last verse are perfect!
