At the crossing
Of serenity and fear
Of subtlety and the grandiose
Of beauty and starkness
I look upon and onwards
To the new year
As we spin around
Again to see the changes
We have come to depend on
I hope to see changes
I haven’t yet prepared for
I resolved a lot
I resisted little
I stand resolute on some
I reserve nothing
I loved the contrasts in this poem. Life is like that. I also love the movement through the poem – “At the crossing” and “As we spin around”…And the “r” words in every line of! the last verse are perfect!

Beautiful works, Sam. Hope all goes well for you in the New Year, knowing that–for better or worse–it won’t.

I love the intersection of conflicting points and the sense of holeness it brings. The yin and yang inextricable. Thank you.
